Position Summary:
We are seeking an entry-level Rope Access Wind Technician (Tech 1) to perform general maintenance, mechanical work, and tower cleaning tasks using industrial rope access techniques. This role requires adherence to strict safety standards and offers opportunities for professional growth within the industrial and renewable energy sectors. This position requires 100% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rope Access Operations
- Assist with rope access operations for tower cleaning, general maintenance, and basic mechanical repairs under supervision
- Execute tasks safely using rope access techniques in accordance with IRATA and/or SPRAT
- Perform thorough cleaning of turbine towers and other vertical structures using approved cleaning equipment and solutions
- Support senior technicians in mechanical tasks, such as component replacements or routine inspections
- Operate basic hand tools and cleaning equipment
- Ensure worksite cleanliness and safety assisting setting up and breaking down rope access systems
- Maintain and inspect rope access equipment as directed by supervisors
- Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all company and industry standards, including maintaining proper PPE and following fall protection protocols
- Comply with environmental and site-specific regulations to minimize impact during operations
- Teamwork and Development
- Collaborate with other technicians to complete work efficiently and on schedule
- Participate in ongoing training to improve technical skills and advance in certification levels
Qualifications, Experience and Requirements:
- Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Must be at a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
- IRATA and or SPRAT Level 1 certification required
- Global Wind Organization - Basic Safety Training (GWO BST) required
- Familiarity with rope access techniques and working in outdoor conditions is preferred but is not required
- Valid Driver's License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required
- Pre-employment MVO and Criminal background checks will be required
- Ability and willingness to travel to job sites as needed

Work Conditions and Mental & Physical Requirements
- Ability to move, carry and lift objects weighing a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and climb
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing tanks, ladders, scaffolding, towers, piping systems, catwalks, structural steel, and wind turbines
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking and stooping
- Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and/or cold
- Work in and near industrial hazards
- Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties
- Remain constantly active throughout duration of shift
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively
- Sufficient vision (close vision and distance vision) or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to investigate
- Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform in-field or office duties
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permit the employee to perform in-field or office duties
- Excellent physical fitness and the ability to endure prolonged outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights greater than 250 ft.
- 100% Travel required - Ability to travel to different job sites, sometimes on short notice
- Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
- Exhibits sensible and responsible behavior
- Strong interpersonal skills in effective communication and the ability to work within a team
- Willingness to assist in training and mentoring lower-level technicians
