We are actively seeking an Executive Director, Regional Business Development to lead our continued New England regional growth efforts based out of our Burlington, MA office.

This role reports directly to the Managing Director of America's Operations and has two primary responsibilities: securing commercial opportunities through strategic business development within the region, and providing regional leadership.

You will collaborate with the IPS management teams, including all regional business development leads, account/client managers, and executive leadership to lead business development efforts, including qualifying and developing leads, client management, developing sales plans, coordinating proposals, and monitoring ongoing contacts. Additionally, you will facilitate employee engagement, regional communications, problem-solving, manage office operations, and help maintain IPS' regional brand.

Position Responsibilities

1. Develop and manage relationships with all clients within the region, including advancing these accounts globally.


2. Coordinate business development activities with the IPS management team.


3. Establish contact with potential clients and develop client profiles based on their history.


4. Assist in developing marketing contact lists aligned with the firms marketing plan and potential for future work.


5. Support the development of yearly sales plans and monitoring systems.


6. Manage and monitor the business development activities of the regions core service staff.


7. Coordinate proposal efforts, including assisting with go/no-go decisions, proposal team development, task assignment, review, and debriefings.


8. Prepare proposal activity logs and weekly summaries for distribution.


9. Coordinate submissions to prospects regarding the firms capabilities.


10. Perform market research to identify current and future trends.


11. Keep the IPS commercial management team informed about market trends, proposals, prospects, projects, and awards.


12. Create a professional atmosphere in the regional office.


13. Manage all aspects of regional office operations, including employee management, training, and compliance.


14. Support regional financial targets and manage those targets.


15. Ensure proper management, training, and compliance of all regional employees.


16. Foster a positive work environment and staff development.


17. Manage administrative staff and support local IT infrastructure.


18. Make presentations to prospective clients and lead proposal presentations.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business with relevant industry experience.


2. 15+ years of experience in the engineering and construction AEC industry, with at least 10 years in leadership roles overseeing strategic planning, sales, service delivery, and resource management.


3. Strong administrative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build rapport and lead teams.


4. Effective negotiation and communication skills.
