Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with experience in React to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java-based applications and a passion for front-end development using React. You will work on building high-performance web applications that provide excellent user experiences.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD 120K - CAD 125K/year benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces using React.
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Java Developer (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
  • Experience with front-end technologies, specifically React.js.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks and tools (e.g., Redux, Webpack).
