As a Preschool Teacher, you'll be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences that engage and support the growth of each child. Your role will be focused on fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development while maintaining a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment. Building strong relationships with families and the community will also be a key part of your work.

Primary Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of early childhood education philosophies, including regulations and performance standards (EEC, NAEYC, etc.) that apply to the classroom.
Collaborate with your classroom team to create and implement an engaging learning environment that supports each child's individual growth.
Participate in staff development opportunities to continue growing your skills as an educator.
Communicate regularly with teachers, lead teachers, and supervisors to share relevant information about classroom activities and children's progress.
Observe and document children's behaviors to assess their development and plan accordingly to meet their needs. You'll also assist with referrals and interventions as needed.
Maintain an organized classroom by ensuring equipment, materials, and supplies are in good condition and stored safely.
Assist with accurate record-keeping, reports, and any other required documentation.
Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all.
Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and family engagement activities, including conferences and volunteer opportunities.
Build positive, supportive relationships with families, ensuring open communication through phone calls, meetings, and home visits.
Contribute to a team-oriented approach in engaging with clients, responding to their needs, and participating in team meetings.
Uphold confidentiality standards in compliance with relevant laws and requirements.
Ensure compliance with all program, agency, and funder regulations, along with internal policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
EEC Preschool Teacher Certification is required.
Comfortable working with diverse populations and communicating effectively with children, families, and co-workers.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in Head Start programs or those who have been Head Start parents.
Reporting Structure:
Directly reports to the Assistant Center Director.
Indirectly reports to the Co-Center Director.
This position has no direct reports.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to manage the physical demands of the position, including lifting children as necessary.
A recent physical exam must confirm good health and compliance with all EEC health standards.
Working Conditions:
As a Preschool Teacher, you will have direct or incidental contact with children and families in various programs. A successful background check is required as part of the employment process.
