Join the high-performing sales team at GE Appliances as a Senior Area Sales Manager covering the Northern California market. In this field-based role, you’ll lead sales initiatives across a diverse range of contract and builder accounts — including single-family, multi-family, authorized builder distributors, and apartment replacement distributors.

You’ll be responsible for growing market share, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering an exceptional end-to-end experience. This is an exciting opportunity to bring industry-leading appliance solutions to life in one of California’s most dynamic regions.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow appliance sales within an assigned builder/distributor territory across Northern California
  • Deliver on sales targets and operating margin goals
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities while managing potential channel conflict
  • Build long-term, consultative relationships through value-driven solution selling
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to drive strategy and differentiation
  • Lead local sales training efforts and partner with key stakeholders to support growth
  • Manage pipeline, reporting, and administrative tasks to ensure operational excellence
  • Proactively cold call prospects and convert leads into active, purchasing accounts
  • Engage with construction job sites and regional teams to support projects and build trust

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant B2B field sales experience — or completion of the GE Appliances Commercial Development Program
  • Must reside (or be willing to relocate) within the territory, ideally with easy access to the Bay Area
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic customer relationships
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and goal-oriented
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including overnight stays, based on territory coverage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and executing territory-based sales strategies aligned with company objectives
  • Background in wholesale contractor, builder, or distribution sales
  • Cold calling and new account acquisition success
  • 2+ years of experience in appliance sales or a related industry
  • Familiarity with multi-channel sales models and contractor/distributor ecosystems

Working Conditions & Travel

  • This is a remote role based from a home office, with frequent in-person meetings across the territory
  • Travel includes significant drive time and several overnights per month to effectively manage the region
  • Must be flexible with working hours to meet customer needs — primarily aligned with U.S. Pacific Time Zone
